Calendars for Apple Watch gets more powerful and customizable

One of the most beloved calendar applications in the Apple world, the Calendars (and Readdle) got a major update today on the Apple Watch to allow users to access their calendars on the go and use the watch with personalized watch faces.

In the new version, we can now do things like manage the calendar and create events directly from the watch, as well as receive invitations and updates for appointments (and respond to them) without the need for the iPhone — a limitation that existed until the previous version.

Keeping your schedule always synchronized between your watch and your smartphone, Calendars now also lets you choose between viewing your schedule and to-do list, as well as marking them as completed, editing or deleting them.

Finally, let’s talk about the arrival of six custom watch faces, which have complications that let you instantly check the status of your calendar and to-do list without having to open the app.

Each watch face is designed for a specific lifestyle — allowing you to choose which one to use depending on the task you’re doing for different, personalized information. There’s one for those who prefer to keep track of time in an elegant way, another for those who prefer to see as much information as possible at once, and even one for those who like a more traditional look.

If you don’t want to use one of Calendars’ custom watch faces, you can also simply add one or two of the app’s complications to your favorite watch face—another way to stay on top of your appointments.
