“Caleb Love’s NCAA Transfer Journey: From Michigan to Arizona”

2023-05-31 09:43:00

NCAA – Former leader of North Carolina, Caleb Love obviously did not meet the requirements of the university of Michigan on the academic level.

After many twists and turns, the file Caleb Love is finally closed. Entered the NCAA transfer portal at the end of the season, following three campaigns with North Carolina, the playmaker was initially committed to Michigan. Except that a few days later, we learned that he did not meet the academic criteria of the university of Ann Arbor, and therefore might not play with the basketball team.

Automatically placed back in the “pool” of players still available on the transfer portal, the former Tar Heel has therefore evaluated his options once more over the past ten days following this unfortunate setback, and he finally made its (second) decision on Tuesday : it will be Arizonaunder the command of the brilliant Tommy Lloyd.

A good catch for the Wildcats coach, who following losing his starting point guard Kerr Kriisa, who left for West Virginia last month, gets a solid replacement, less good manager but better attacker. “Senior” at the start of the school year, Caleb Love (14.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in three seasons) will share the “backcourt” in the five majors with the future “sophomore” Jaden Bradley, who arrived in Tucson recently from Alabama.

In the system of Tommy Lloyd with the very modern offensive philosopher, Caleb Love thus finds himself in an ideal environment on the sporting level to repair his rating with the NBA franchises, following three half-fig half-grape years in Chapel Hill. Surrounded by experienced and versatile players in a coherent collective, he will be relieved of a large part of the responsibilities of “playmaking” and will be able to concentrate on “scoring”, his strong point.

Hoping for him that helps him play more effectively, despite only shooting 36% since the start of his NCAA career…
