Cak Imin Apologizes to President for Husnul Khatimah to Resign

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) assessed that the apology of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo at the Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI in 2024 was to release his leadership for two terms with husnul khatimah.

“That is part of the obligation to forgive each other, to let go with a husnul khatimah,” said Cak Imin when met after attending the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI in 2024 at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (16/8)

He also assessed the apology as something that should be done by a leader at the end of his tenure.

“It’s something natural for a leader to end his term,” he said.

Previously, Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin apologized to all Indonesian people at the end of their term of office, which left about two months left for hopes that had not yet been realized.

“I and Prof. Dr. (HC) KH Ma’ruf Amin apologize. I apologize to every heart that may be disappointed for every hope that may not have been realized, for every ideal that may not have been achieved,” said President Jokowi.

President Joko Widodo apologized at least four times when delivering the performance report of ministries/institutions at the 2024 MPR Annual Session and Joint Session of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD) at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday.

The 2024 Annual Session was held with the theme “New Archipelago, Advanced Indonesia” which consisted of the Annual Session of the MPR RI, Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI, and the Plenary Session of the Opening of Session Period I of the DPR for the 2024-2025 Session Year.

In the Annual Session of the MPR RI-Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI, President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will deliver a report on the performance of state institutions, as well as a state speech in the context of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

Furthermore, in the Plenary Session of the Opening of Session Period I of the DPR for Session Year 2024-2025, President Jokowi will deliver a speech in the context of the Introduction/Government Statement on the Draft Law on the State Budget (APBN) for Fiscal Year 2025 along with the Financial Note.
