ACTRESS Caitlin Halderman conducted direct research into real judo teams around Jakarta to deepen her character as the national judo team coach in her latest film My Annoying Brother.

“I did some research on judo teams in Jakarta, ‘How does the national team train?’ Because every country is different,” said Caitlin, Thursday (19/9).

“And that’s what I researched and applied to the judo team (in this film),” he continued.

The film My Annoying Brother is a remake of a South Korean film with the same title, the original version of which was released in 2016.

Later, the Indonesian version of the film will be released on October 24, 2024 and stars Vino G. Bastian, Angga Yunanda, Caitlin Halderman, and Kristo Immanuel.

In the film My Annoying Brother, Caitlin plays the role of a national judo team coach named Amanda. During the filming process, Caitlin faced several challenges, one of which was not having direct experience in the sport of judo.

“Amanda (her character’s name) here does judo, and I had no prior judo background,” said the 24-year-old actress.

In addition, Caitlin felt that her character and nature were very different from the character she played. Therefore, Caitlin tried to be professional and explore her character as best as possible.

“In terms of personality, Amanda and Caitlin are very different. But, they still stay in character stage,” he said.

Despite facing a number of challenges, Caitlin was happy to be involved in the film.

Working with Vino G. Bastian and Kristo Immanuel for the first time, as well as an interesting script, made Caitlin determined to appear in My Annoying Brother.

“This is one of the challenging films for me, something new too because I’m a judo trainer, so I have to do a judo workshop too, learn…
a lot of this film,” Caitlin stressed.

“In terms of the story, it’s really exciting, that’s one of the reasons I took this film,” he concluded. (Ant/Z-1)
