Cairo Investigations Uncover Identity of Accused in Egyptian Doctor’s Murder Case

Cairo investigations succeeded in identifying the accused of killing the Egyptian doctor, Osama Tawfiq Al-Sayed Sabour, and burying his body in his private clinic, as it was found that his colleague was involved in committing the crime.

The incidents of uncovering the crime began following the family of the “Sahel Doctor” submitted a report following losing contact with him for a period of 4 days.

Egyptian media said that the doctor is 30 years old and works as an orthopedist at Nasser Institute Hospital, and one of his colleagues confirmed that his friend Osama Tawfiq asked for permission 4 days ago and did not return to work following that.

The security services were able to uncover the circumstances of the crime, following unloading the surveillance cameras surrounding the clinic.

Upon examination, they found the doctor’s mutilated body, buried in a hole inside the clinic, and it was transferred to the mortuary at the disposal of the investigation authorities, who ordered an autopsy and then burial.

On Wednesday, a security force succeeded in locating the first suspect’s hiding place and was able to arrest him in one of the governorates of Upper Egypt following he fled Cairo, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm.

Investigations revealed that the main suspect in the incident, Ahmed Sh., works as an orthopedist at the Nasser Institute. He participated with two other defendants, a nurse who works for him, and his girlfriend, who is a lawyer, to lure the victim, drug him, and bargain with his family for sums of money as a ransom for his release, but he died. As a result of the drug overdose, they dug a hole a meter deep inside the clinic and buried him there

The victim’s doctor’s mother said in statements to “Cairo 24”: “I learned the news of my son’s death from a friend of his who had an appointment to attend their friend’s wedding party. His friend arrived at Nasser Institute Hospital, and when he asked regarding my son, he was told that he had been absent for two days.”

And the victim’s mother indicated that her son’s colleagues told him that the doctor, Osama Tawfiq, had received a phone call during his work, so he asked them to go out for half an hour only to go to one of the places, then he would return once more, indicating that they told him that he had left work and had not returned since then, and they did not know regarding him. anything.

In his hometown of Hiya Center in Tel Sharkia, the people shared the body of the doctor, amid a state of grief among his family and friends.
