CAF Champions League: Horoya AC surprised by Raja Casablanca in Bamako

Raja de Casablanca largely dominated Horoya Athletic Club this Tuesday, March 7, 2023, with a score of 3 goals 1 in Bamako, on the account of the fourth day of the CAF Champions League. This defeat complicates the position of the Guinean champion in this continental competition.

From the start of this meeting, the Moroccan club quickly put themselves above the Guineans. In the 6th minute of play, W. Sabbar showed the way to his side from a corner (1-0). Ten minutes later, the situation got even more complicated for Horoya AC. Following an off-field intervention, his goalkeeper, Moussa Pinpin Camara, received a red card. From pressure to pressure, Raja doubled the lead in the 41st minute, thanks to Mohammed Nahiri on a free kick (2-0), score at the break.

Back on the lawn, the Moroccan, Harkass, was punished with a red card. Despite this reduction, Raja Casablanca continued to create great chances. In the 61st minute, J. Walid Sabbar found the net (3-0). It was in the 68th minute that the red and white of Matam reduced the score through Pape Abdou N’Diaye (1-3).

Kanfory Lappé Bangoura’s men still have their work cut out for them. They will have to beat Somba SC of Tanzania to validate their qualifying ticket for the round of 16 of the CAF Champions League.
