CAA and UCC Implementation: Amit Shah's Statements and Predictions for 2024 Elections

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will be implemented before the Lok Sabha elections. Many people are misleading our Muslim brothers in the name of CAA. CAA only intends to grant citizenship to those who came to India after persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. This is not to take away Indian citizenship from anyone. It is a constitutional matter signed by Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of the country, and others. But Congress ignored it due to appeasement. The implementation of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand was a social change. Amit Shah said that a secular country should not have religious based civil codes. Amit Shah’s reaction was at a private event in New Delhi.

“BJP will get 370 seats and NDA 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. The government will be formed for the third consecutive term under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There is no doubt about the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections. “Congress and other opposition parties have realized that they will have to sit on the opposition bench again,” said Amit Shah.

We have abrogated Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. So we believe that the people of the country will bless BJP with 370 seats and NDA with more than 400 seats. Asked about the possibility of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and some other regional parties joining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Amit Shah replied that they believe in family planning but not in politics.

2024 election will not be between NDA and Indian opposition party. Amit Shah said that the election will be between those who stand for development and those who shout slogans. Asked about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, Amit Shah said that Nehru’s posterity had no right to go ahead with such a march as the Congress party was responsible for the partition of the country in 1947.
