Chinese automaker BYD has launched its fifth electric car in Brazil. The model that joins the Tan, Han, Yuan and to the newly launched Dolphin is the Seal sedan, that arrives with the proposal to be the most sporty model that those interested in the brand can buy.
The Seal’s sportiness is due to its design, which mixes the lines of a sedan and a coupe, and its powertrain, formed by two electric motors, one on each axle of the car, which deliver 531 hp of power and 68.3 kgfm of touch.
The brand claims that the Seal goes from zero to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds, a good mark for a “seal” that weighs 2,150 kg. The numbers released by BYD are similar to those of models like the Porsche Taycan and Mercedes-AMG EQS, but with a lower price.
Another point that impresses on Seal is its autonomy. BYD’s new electric car promises to travel up to 520 kilometers on the WLTP cycle or 372 kilometers on the PBEV standard, from Inmetro. Its battery is a blade model, with several thin plates in the form of a honeycomb.
Also according to the manufacturer, with an ultra-fast charger, it is possible to go from 30% to 80% of the charge level in just 30 minutes, which is enough to run regarding 300 kilometers. The component is integrated into the body structure, which increases rigidity.
In terms of equipment, the Seal has several driving assistants and active and passive safety items, as well as eight airbags, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, maintenance and lane change assistance, and more.
The sedan comes with adaptive autopilot, 360º camera for emergency maneuvers and lane keeping. The multimedia center is 15.6 inches and works in accordance with the Dynaudio sound system with 12 speakers.
Cell phones can be wirelessly mirrored and there is also native 4G, over-the-air system upgrade, induction cell phone charging and a 10.25″ screen for the instruments. by the brand.
