President Gustavo Petro announced that the train returned as a means of transportation in Colombia, the first route transported 160 tons of coffee from La Dorada (Caldas) to the port of Santa Marta.
On April 16, the National Federation of Coffee Growers transported 160 tons of coffee by rail, packed in 1-ton big bags.
The train left the La Dorada railway station towards the port of Santa Marta, and with its final destination to the United States.
Mobility
“We are opening new logistics routes, reducing costs and reducing the carbon footprint. In this case there are 800 kilometers through seven departments that would have required the use of five tractor trailers,” commented Germán Bahamón, manager of Fedecafé.
