By sea and land they search for a kidnapped merchant in Puerto Cabello

  1. A wide police deployment by sea and land, in the jurisdiction of three states, was activated this Saturday following a well-known merchant was kidnapped in Puerto Cabello.

This is Jóvito Gómez, 53, of Portuguese origin, who has lived for several years in the city of Buenos Aires, where he manages the Costa Norte winery, which he owns.

According to reports, his kidnapping occurred at 11:30 am, when regarding six individuals carrying long firearms, and dressed similar to security forces, arrived at the business and took him out by force.

Then they put him in a white Dacota truck and headed for the Mar Azul sector of Gañango. It is presumed that they later transferred him to another vehicle, since the truck was found a few minutes later on the road to Patanemo.

Once on the beach, the men supposedly subdued a boatman and stripped him of it, to take the merchant by sea.

The police operation that was activated includes the coastal areas of the states of Carabobo, Aragua and La Guaira. The authorities also have a helicopter for the search. Commissions of the Dgcim, Sebin, state and municipal police of Puerto Cabello act.
