By-election in the Perpignan-Canohes canton: Louis Aliot enters the Department

The second round of the partial departmental election in canton 10 of the Pyrénées-Orientales took place this Sunday, December 4. Louis Aliot would be the winner according to the first estimates.

16,080 voters were called to the polls this Sunday, December 4 to elect their departmental councilors for the Perpignan-Canohès canton. The last ballot in June 2021 having been canceled by the administrative court for the ineligibility of the candidate RN Jean-Marie Dionet.

According to a first estimate at 7:45 p.m. this Sunday, the participation rate would be slightly higher than that of the first round which was 21.63%. The RN Louis Aliot-Carla Muti duo would win with 53.5% of the vote. Even if he would arrive largely in the lead in his commune, the mayor of Canohès Jean-Louis Chambon, and his teammate Florence Micolau, would therefore fail with 46.5% of the votes.

For the first round, the National Rally team would already be in the lead with 44.07% of the vote ahead of the second by 16 points (27.63%). The outgoing elected Mathias Blanc-Françoise Chatard, sitting for the departmental majority had been eliminated with 26.36%, or 43 small votes from the second step of the podium.
