12 million pounds (approximately Rs. 122 crores 95 lakhs 57,129 rupees) should be spent on renovation and maintenance of dilapidated buildings. This palace is under Bro Lodge Trust. They say the palace can be turned into a world-class retreat centre. They say the palace is a good place for yoga retreats.
This palace was built by Arthur Nicholson. All the building methods obtained while visiting countries like France, Switzerland and Italy have been used in this palace construction. In the 1980s, no one has lived here since his wife had had enough of living in this palace and returned. Olive Borland, a current member of the Nicholson family, passed it on to the Bro Lodge Trust in 2007. The trust also includes Olive Borland.
