The Federal Administration of Public Revenues (Afip) established the 10% refund regime for final consumers who make purchases at butcher shops. This benefit can be obtained for purchases with a debit, prepaid or similar card associated with accounts opened in financial or fintech entities.
The measure entered into force on March 1 and will be in effect until December 31 of this year, and includes a 90-day deferral in the payment of tax obligations to businesses involved in this activity. The refund will also be received for purchases with a debit card through QR codes.
The refund will be made through the bank or payment service provider involved, within 96 hours of making the purchase, detailing each accreditation in the account summary so that the user can view it.
Returns will have a maximum limit of $2,000 per month and beneficiary.
How butcher shops can access the registry
Businesses that have the category of Registered Manager or are monotributistas with up to three declared employees, will be incorporated automatically. The rest of the taxpayers must register through the Registry System of the agency’s website.
The businesses that have not been included in the registry and consider that they meet the requirements, may request the characterization through the “Registry System”, entering the menu “Special Registries”, option “Characteristics and Special Registries”, and selecting the characterization “Retail Butchers – Reimbursement Regime”.
How to know if the butcher shop in my neighborhood is affiliated
Consumers will be able to access the list of businesses registered on the AFIP website, as well as that of financial and fintech entities that join the refund regime.
