If on weekdays, each 4-seater car has a price ranging from 50,000 – 90,000 VND, now it has increased by 30,000 – 50,000 VND every day. There is even a place where the price of car washes increases to 200,000 – 250,000 VND/car in the days leading up to Tet due to high demand.
More than 8am on January 21 (December 30 of the Year of the Tiger), at a car wash shop on Nguyen Van Huyen Street (Cau Giay), dozens of employees are straining to spray, vacuum, and clean cars. for guests.
Sharing with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Hung, manager of this store said: “From regarding 25 Tet, the number of cars washing at the store doubled compared to normal days. We also started to increase the price by regarding 30% to get Tet bonus for employees”.
According to Mr. Hung, the store must mobilize a total of 9 employees to serve the needs of customers at the end of the year. Although the price has increased a bit higher, but most of the guests are happy and excited regarding this occasion.
“Only today is the 30th of the Lunar New Year, so the store increases the price by 50% to support employees from faraway hometowns to catch a taxi safely,” Hung shared.
Also as noted, at another car wash shop on Thanh Thai Street, the car wash service price also increased higher than normal days, ranging from 220,000 to 250,000 VND/car.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Dat in Trung Kinh (Cau Giay, Hanoi) said: “Since regarding December 23, the price of car wash services in his area has started to increase. The price of motorbike washing has doubled compared to normal days. Cars have increased by regarding one-and-a-half times, and customers are happy to accept the higher costs.”
With a large number of vehicles, many shops take advantage of sidewalks and roadbeds to dry and clean car interiors.

The price of motorbike washing on the 30th of Tet – the last day of the Year of the Tiger – also increased, ranging from 50,000 – 80,000 VND/car.
