Bus strike: which lines would stop working and where would it be?

The meeting, which was held between authorities from the Ministry of Human Capital, representatives of the UTA and businessmen from the Argentine Federation of Passenger Automobile Transporters (FATAP), did not prosper because the workers’ requirements were not met.

Sandra Pettovello, in an attempt to improve the situation, called for a hearing on August 21st in which they will try to smooth things over so that the strike is not carried out. According to the union members, the main problems are inadequate rates, insufficient subsidies and the increasing operating costs.

Roberto Fernández, Secretary General of UTA, spoke out on the matter and stated: “We will not accept maneuvers that seek to correct the economic imbalance through the loss of wages or workers’ rights.”
