After a hit-and-run traffic accident, the police are looking for the driver of a truck, presumably with a Zwettler (ZT) license plate. The truck, which was traveling with a trailer with orange rotating lights, was involved in a traffic accident near the town of Steinschild in the municipality of Schenkenfelden (Urfahr-Raum district) late on Wednesday followingnoon.
At around 5:20 p.m., the heavy vehicle collided sideways on the L1489 with an oncoming bus that was heading towards Reichenau im Mühlkreis. As a result of the collision, the left exterior mirror of the bus was pressed so hard once morest the side window that it shattered. The 26-year-old bus driver and his passenger survived the accident uninjured. The truck driver continued driving without stopping.
Police are asking for information
The bus driver notified a colleague who noticed a truck with a trailer near the scene of the accident whose license plate began with ZT. The Schenkenfelden fire department was deployed with around ten men to regulate traffic at the scene of the accident. The police are now asking for information from witnesses to the Bad Leonfelden police station on 059133 4331.
A bus accident ended less lightly on Wednesday in Unterweitersdorf (Freistadt district): two buses collided on the B125 for reasons that are still unclear. Nine people were injured in the accident, two of them seriously.
