CINCINNATI (AP) — Joe Burrow returned to training Wednesday following missing more than a month with a strained right calf muscle.

The Pro Bowl quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals donned his shoulder pads and participated in practice for the first time since limping off a practice game on July 27.

Burrow, 26, warmed up with backup quarterbacks Jake Browning and newcomer Will Grier.

Near the end of a practice during training camp last month, Burrow began to limp and fell to the ground trying. He left the field on a stretcher.

Burrow might reach a deal to extend his contract with the Bengals to become one of the highest-paid players in the league.
