He indicated that “the popular support and enthusiasm aroused by the creation of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) can be explained by the failure and incapacity of sub-regional institutions and mechanisms to respond to the concerns security and legitimacy of our populations. »

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Traoré, also reaffirmed “the professionalism and exemplary behavior” of the country’s Defense and Security Forces (FDS), “demonstrated by their participation in peacekeeping operations, and, as As we have repeatedly acknowledged in this forum, the ongoing training and review of our defense forces and volunteers in international humanitarian law ensures that our professional behavior is impeccable in respecting human rights. man “.

Regarding the reform of the Security Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said: “It is time that the African continent can participate fully in the United Nations Security Council, in accordance with the position that Africa expressed in the consensus that supported it.

“This will allow us to establish the universal character of the United Nations and redress the persistent injustice against Africa,” he concluded.
