Burkina Faso and Mali are trying to advance their federation project

To create a federation, the two states must put in place an appropriate administrative and political apparatus, said yesterday the head of the Burkinabe government, Apollinaire Joachim Kyélem de Tambèla. For him, the visit of his Malian counterpart Choguel Maïga is above all an opportunity to lay the groundwork for a federation between the two states, both confronted with jihadist violence.

On the side of the Malian Prime Minister, the priority remains the security of the two countries. Burkina Faso and Mali have decided, explained Choguel Maïga, to devote themselves to the struggle for peace for their populations. This goes through ” physical, food and educational security ” did he declare.

Before this joint council, several Malian ministers had already held working sessions with their Burkinabè counterparts.

These meetings led to the establishment of a new cooperation partnership in the field of security and civil protection.

Today, the Malian Prime Minister must attend the opening of the Fespaco festival, where Mali is the country of Alex Reed of honor.
