Zurich (awp) – Construction technician Burkhalter reported a marked increase in results on Monday, following the first full consolidation of Poenina, which joined the group at the end of June 2022. The outlook for the current financial year is optimistic, thanks megatrends in the construction industry.
During the period under review, turnover (526.2 million Swiss francs), operating profit (26.0 million) and net profit (21.2 million) almost doubled on an annual basis under the he effect of the merger with Poenina, as well as a dozen more modest acquisitions made since the beginning of the year, indicates the Zurich holding company listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange in a press release. Expressed per share, the half-year profit shows an increase of 13.3% to 1.80 francs.
If the operating and net results are more or less in line with the projections of the experts surveyed by the AWP agency, the turnover turned out to be significantly higher than forecast.
For the rest of the financial year, Burkhalter reaffirms its ambition of growth by acquisition as a strategic element, while pointing out that this does not necessarily mean that “other acquisitions of the same magnitude will be made during the second half of the year”.
The management suggests for 2023 a “moderate increase” in earnings per share (EPS) and considers itself “optimally positioned” to contribute to the objectives of the Confederation’s 2050 Energy Strategy.
