In Jeju, animal abuse cases have occurred one after another, such as dogs being buried alive and abandoned by tying their snouts and paws together with string.

According to the Jeju Western Police Station on the 20th, a dog suspected of abuse was discovered by a resident at 8:50 a.m. the previous day in an empty lot near Dogeuncheon Stream in Naedo-dong, Jeju City.

At the time of discovery, all parts of the dog except the nose were buried, and the dog was crying, ‘Wow, woo, woo’.

In particular, a stone was placed on the ground where the dog was buried.

According to the reporter, the dog was very thin at the time of rescue, and the bones were clearly visible and there were wounds in various places. It was also confirmed that at first, he was trembling without being able to crawle properly, let alone walk.

After receiving the report, the police arrived and checked the dog’s registration chip. As a result, the dog was a poodle with its owner.

Currently, the dog has been handed over to a shelter through Jeju City Hall.

Earlier, on the 13th, an abandoned dog with its snout and front paws tied to a rope was discovered by a shelter volunteer near the Hallim Shelter, a shelter for abandoned dogs in Hallim-eup, Jeju City.

There was even tape wrapped around the rope that bound the abandoned dog, and the front paws were bent behind the body.

When the shelter side checked the registration chip of the abandoned dog after rescue, it was confirmed that this dog was ‘Joo Hong-i’, an individual who lived in the shelter.

On the day of the rescue, Joo Hong-i, who was not in good condition to the point of not being able to eat properly, luckily, was diagnosed at the veterinary hospital.

Currently, Joo Hong-i is looking for an adoptee while being cared for by a second temporary guardian.

Police are investigating to find the suspect of Joo Hong’s abuse, but there is no CCTV near the scene of the incident, and it is difficult to identify the suspect because it is far from a private house.
