A huge drama by Jasmin Burić. “Doctors gave no chance”
After leaving Lech Poznań, Burić joined the Israeli league, specifically Hapoel Haifa. He spent two years there, and then from July 2021 he was without a club for half a year. In an interview for the portal Weśle.com he revealed what it was all regarding. – My father was very sick at that time and was in hospital. I had to return to Bosnia and I was ready to completely give up playing football if something went wrong, he said.
The Bosnian experienced shocking moments then. – Being with my father and supporting him was the most important moment in my life. It was the first time I encountered such helplessness – your father can die in the hospital and you cannot help him, knowing that practically everything depends on the doctors. In such a situation, you can only wait to see what happens. It was very bad at first. Doctors didn’t give my father much chance of survival… – he recalled. He also revealed what exactly was wrong with his father. – He had surgery, following which a deadly bacteria entered his body. “I don’t know what it’s called, but it was very serious,” he explained.
That’s why Burić didn’t play for half a year. “I didn’t regret a single second”
The footballer’s father spent three months in a hospital bed. Fortunately, everything had a happy ending. The man recovered, and Zagłębie came for the goalkeeper. – Generally, I have simple rules in life. For me, parents come first. No one can be in front of them. Neither wife nor football. They raised me from an early age and if it weren’t for them, maybe I would be doing something different in life. I owe them for the rest of my life. I didn’t regret a single second of time away from football, he concluded.
Jasmin Burić is only the third choice in the Zagłębie team this season. He loses the competition with Sokratis Dioudis and Szymon Weirach. Recently, however, he played in four Ekstraklasa matches once morest Ruch, Lech, Śląsk and Cracovia.
