Burgenland Energie introduces subscriptions for electric cars

In the future, Burgenland Energie will offer a subscription model for electric cars in cooperation with “vibe moves you”. The vehicles can be subscribed to for a period of six months or more, and all services are included, explained CEO Stephan Sharma on Thursday. The whole thing is handled by a joint venture founded with the e-car subscription provider vibe under the name “beem”.

“We want to bring electromobility to Burgenland,” said Sharma at the presentation. A subscription includes vehicle and financing costs as well as seasonal tires, liability and fully comprehensive insurance, service work, registration, a charging card and a motorway vignette, explained vibe co-founder Paul Blaguss. Taxes and fees are also covered. Photovoltaic systems, storage systems and wall boxes are available for charging at home.

The rollout of the subscription model in Burgenland is an important step towards climate neutrality, emphasized State Governor Hans Peter Doskozil (SPÖ). The goal of becoming climate-neutral and energy self-sufficient by 2030 means that around two million tons of CO2 must be saved every year. “And mobility can and will make a decisive contribution here,” said Doskozil.
