New face before BVB game on TV
The first top game of the new season starts with a premiere!
In the duel between Dortmund and Leverkusen, Julia Simic (33) is working for the first time alongside Lothar Matthäus (61) and presenter Sebastian Hellmann (54) as a top game expert for the TV channel “Sky”.

Since this season, the ex-Bundesliga and national player (including Bayern, Wolfsburg, Freiburg) has expanded the panel of experts for the top games and is a permanent member of the “Sky” team. Alternating with her, Tabea Kemme (30/et al. Potsdam) is one of them.
Simic confident: “I’m not Lothar’s second voice, I want to bring my own expertise and opinion to Sky.”
Born in Nuremberg, Simic was a professional player for 16 years before retiring on May 31 last year. She described herself as ambitious, perfectionist, also critical and loud as a communicator on the pitch.
Simic: “I’m at home in women’s football, but of course I’m also involved in men’s football. And as far as my network in men’s football is concerned, I will continue to expand it.”
Simic started her career in 2005, played for FC Bayern in the women’s Bundesliga for a total of eight years until 2013 and made 134 appearances on the pitch. In 2012 she won the DFB Cup with the Munich team.
She ended up at VfL Wolfsburg via Turbine Potsdam. She won the DFB Cup three times in a row with the Wolves in 2015, 2016 and 2017. She was still under contract with AC Milan until 2021. Simic is currently working as an assistant coach for the U17s at the DFB.
In addition, since March 2022, Simic has been an expert and co-commentator on the Friday games of the “DAZN” streaming service.
