Senate 5 (Licensing Committee) of the Bundesliga has initiated proceedings once morest second division club Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz in connection with the use of Brazilian players. The league announced this on Wednesday. According to media reports, the Vorarlbergers had employed three Brazilians, Gabryel, Matheus Lins and Ricardo, without work permits and reported them as amateurs. The Bundesliga is now investigating a possible violation of a license condition.

The three players affected have now left Austria following their tourist visas have expired. They were on the field for the league newcomers until the end of September. Bregenz is currently in second place in the 2nd league table. In the event of a guilty verdict from the league, the promoted team might have points deducted.

Senate 3 (stadium committee) also withdrew Sturm Graz II’s permission to compete in the Gleisdorf stadium. This measure was therefore taken due to the poor quality of the playing field. The Graz team must now quickly name an alternative stadium for the two remaining home games in the 2nd league in the fall.
