Germany and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer announced on his Instagram account that “the current season is over” for him due to a broken leg during a skiing holiday.
This is very bad news for the Bavarian club, which will also be deprived for the rest of the season of its defender Lucas Hernandez, seriously injured in the right knee during the first match of the French team at the 2022 World Cup.
Bayern Munich are due to face Paris St-Germain in the Champions League Round of 16 on February 14 and March 8. The “Rekordmeister” leads the Bundesliga at the break, with 4 points ahead of Freiburg.
Neuer, 36, broke his leg while ski touring and was operated on at a clinic in Murnau, near Munich.

The 2022-2023 season is decidedly cursed for the 2014 world champion, already sidelined before the World Cup due to a shoulder injury. Returning in time for the 2022 World Cup, Neuer, 117 selections, might not prevent the elimination of the Mannschaft from the group stage, as in 2018.
