Bulgarian agriculture is in a very loose state and is upside down. This cannot be fixed from rotation to rotation, a long-term action plan is needed, because no one believes in the word strategy anymore”. This is what Agriculture Minister Kiril Vatev told BNT today.

He specified that the biggest mistake in agriculture is the lack of irrigation. “Given the climate changes, a forecast should be made with the meteorologists and based on the changes, we should review the varieties that are grown,” the minister stressed.

In response to a question, he announced that today the government has come to an understanding with all the protesting farmers. He clarified, however, that there are claims from organizations that did not participate in the talks these days. The minister admitted that the demands of the protesters were fair, but the most appropriate way to help them should be found. “They accepted the conditions, accepted the schedule, agreed, on Sunday we will specify all the texts, and on Monday we will sign”, that’s how Vatev described the situation following the talks with the protesters today (everything on the subject here).
