Al-Marsad newspaper: A citizen told the story of how he built a mosque out of mountain rocks in Al-Qassim. From the outside, it looked like a block of sand topped with a minaret and glass panels, and from the inside it looked like a cave.

He said during his appearance on Al Arabiya channel, that the idea of building the mosque is simple and inexpensive. It consists of a pile of sand, following which stone is placed for strengthening, then reinforcement and concrete.

The citizen added that the internal temperature of the mosque in the summer reaches 28 while the external temperature is 46, and it operates a cooling system consisting of a black lighthouse connected to openings under the door to draw in air.

He pointed out that the lighting of the mosque during the day depends on the sunlight reflecting through the glass placed outside, without the need for electricity, while at night it depends on the light of the stars and the moon.
