The company of Buenaventura Mines reported that the Julcani (Huanvelica) and Orcopampa (Arequipa) mining units restarted their operations, following the unblocking of roads.
This was reported as an important event before the Superintendency of the Stock Market (SMV).
“As has happened in a large part of the national territory, the roadblocks near the Julcani and Orcopampa mining units have ceased completely and peacefully. In this sense, the operations in said mining units have restarted with normal production rates ”, he detailed.
Buenaventura added that this will allow meeting the production estimates for the year.
On Thursday, December 15, the company reported that the access roads to the Julcani and Orcopampa mining units were blocked.
Given this situation, although there was no damage to Buenaventura’s property or assets, the mining company decided to initiate the temporary suspension of its activities in both units, as a preventive measure.
