CThis is (rare) good news for the country’s budget. On the eve of the budgetary conclave, a report should be made this followingnoon, which notes an improvement of 6 billion in the deficit forecasts. In its provisional version, which might evolve marginally and that the Standard was able to consult, the budget of the Belgian entities should show a deficit of 27.4 billion euros at the end of this year. In October, when Belgium submitted its forecasts to the European Commission, there was still talk of a negative balance of 33.6 billion. That’s an improvement of 6 billion. Half of this recovery comes from the accounts of the federated entities, the other from the federal government, which garners 3 billion to bring its deficit almost to 20 billion.
