The measures announced by the Minister of Finance, Eric Girard, are not sufficient, believe some community organizations.

Although the $500 tax credit for Quebecers with an income of less than $100,000 is a measure that is appreciated in the short term, it does not solve all the problems for low-income people.
Some citizens would also have preferred other measures, such as freezing Hydro-Québec rates.
“People always appreciate having an amount, but for our customers, at the food bank, this $500 will not change their condition,” says Daniel Régimbal, general manager of Entraide Agapè.
Other organizations denounce the fact that the government has not announced additional assistance measures for the community sector.
“We want to provide services to the population […]then we, if we are not careful in our finances, then we close overnight, people will no longer have food assistance, no more food delivered to the house, no more jobs, ”says Stéphane Paradis, general manager of La Baratte.
