Last year, the Minister of Finance Bruno Le Maire announced, in September, a 2023 budget “to the nearest euro”, but the passage through Parliament resulted, three months later, in an increase of 7 billion euros of the State deficit compared to the initial copy. Will the government succeed this time in avoiding such a slippage?
The finance bill (PLF) for 2024 begins its examination in Parliament on Tuesday, during its passage in the Finance Committee of the National Assembly. A first stage of the marathon which must keep the deputies in suspense until the end of December, and which will put pressure on the executive and the majority.
