Bucaramanga Mayor’s Office announces meeting with Invías to solve blockades in the North

After a full day with the road to the Atlantic Coast closed, on the night of this Monday, January 23, the mayor of Bucaramanga, Juan Carlos Cárdenas, reported that he had a conversation with the director of the National Institute of Roads, Invías, Juan Alfonso Latorre, and announced that tomorrow, Tuesday, there will be a meeting to resolve the protests.

“After speaking with the director of Invías, Juan Alfonso Latorre, we agreed to have a delegation from the entity first thing tomorrow morning to solve and reach agreements with the communities that since this morning blocked mobility in the Colorados sector, via the Coast” , announced the regional president.

Cárdenas’s announcement comes following hundreds of vehicles have been affected at the exit to the Atlantic Coast, since early this Monday around 300 people blocked the road, asking that the road network and light be improved.

Although it is true that the demonstrators directly claim the Mayor of Bucaramanga and the governor of Santander, Mauricio Aguilar, who did not personally reach the area of ​​the blockades, Juan Carlos Cárdenas was emphatic in stressing that this road does not belong to the city but to the You already sent Findeter.

“Important: this road is the responsibility of Invías and Findeter. The protesters assured that they will remain in the blockades until the Mayor and the Governor arrive in the area.
