Renovation of electrical, hydraulic and sanitary installations; placement of new lights; change of floors; replacement of windows, doors and aluminum gates; as well as demolition and placement of walls to make the spaces more functional, with part of the work carried out at the BUAP Faculty of Medicine.
The rector Lilia Cedillo Ramírez supervised the remodeling works of the MED2, MED3 and MED5 buildings, in addition she explained that these changes respond to the needs expressed by the students of this academic unit.
In order not to hinder academic activities, since the face-to-face return to classes is confirmed for next February 7, the remodeling work will continue during vacation periods. The equipping of these properties will be carried out gradually.
The works also include replacement of prefabricated waterproofing and damaged bathroom furniture, painting on walls and ceilings, and construction of a metal structure staircase with a reinforced concrete foundation, for better access to and exit from the MED5 building.
The community area adjacent to buildings MED1, MED2 and MED3 was remodeled; Concrete and table tennis tables were demolished, as well as planters, which were replaced by eight concrete tables with electrical installations and canvas umbrellas, as well as two new table tennis tables.
These actions are part of a comprehensive remodeling that will benefit an enrollment of 9,000 students from seven educational programs.
“There was a remodeling and modernization. Now we have the appropriate technology for students to make the most of their academic stay,” said the director of the Faculty of Medicine, Luis Guillermo Vázquez de Lara Cisneros, who accompanied the rector Lilia Cedillo during this visit to supervise the work. in addition to the director of Educational Infrastructure, José Daniel Gámez Rodríguez.
