BTS Gets 7 Billboard Music Award Nominations

The BTS boys are no strangers to the famed Billboard Music Awards, having been the first K-pop artists to land a nomination and win it on the show. For this year’s ceremony, BTS made sure their names weren’t missed once once more. Grabbing seven nominations, they set another personal best, breaking their own record of four nominations from last year.

BTS’ first nomination is for the Top Duo/Group category which they previously won in 2019 and 2021. This is their fourth nomination in a row. The band’s songs “Butter” and “Permission to Dance” are up for Best Selling Song, while the septet is also up for Top Song Sales Artist.

With the addition of two new Billboard charts that debuted last year, BTS earned nominations for their two corresponding awards as Top Billboard Global Artist (outside the US) and Top Billboard Global Song (outside the US). States) for their song “Butter”. Last came BTS’ nomination for the Top Rock Song Award for “My Universe,” which is the group’s collaboration with Coldplay.

Surprisingly, the Top Social Artist category, a win they achieved for the past five years, was skipped from the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.

The Billboard Music Awards or BBMAs will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 15.
