BTS fans ask to light up the BBVA Tower in support of Suga, after scandal

BTS’ Suga’s name has been trending on social media for several days following the accident he suffered when he fell off his electric skateboard under the influence of alcohol. To show support for the rapper’s situation and in honor of the South Korean group, ARMY started a petition to the banking institution to light up the BBVA Tower purple.

It was on August 7 that Min Yoongi, better known by his stage name ‘Suga’, reappeared on Weverse after a long period of absence. The rapper shared a statement in which he expressed feeling sorry for the fall he had while trying to park his scooter while intoxicated, which led to the authorities revoking his license.

Following this incident, there were even those who suggested that the man also known by his solo name ‘August D’, could stop being a member of Bangtan Sonyeondan. However, his agency clarified that this is not possible and that Suga will continue to be part of the K-pop group.

Following the rapper’s words, ARMY from Mexico started a trend on X, in which they request that the BBVA Tower be illuminated in purple, this to show support for Suga during the difficult time he is going through and to pay tribute to BTS.

All posts on X about it can be read: “Hello BBVA Mexico! We are BTS ARMY, and we come with a request that could fill thousands of ARMYs in Mexico with pride. How about lighting up the BBVA Tower purple in honor of Suga and BTS?”
