After last Monday the municipal administration in Plovdiv missed the opportunity to prevent the hidden privatization of the Plovdiv fair, today the parliamentary group of the BSP gave a briefing at which they publicly calculated the damage to the state caused by the mayors of Varna Ivan Portnih and Plovdiv Zdravko Dimitrov.

According to the chairman of the group, Borislav Gutsanov, just from the case with the Plovdiv fair, the state was damaged by BGN 60 million. He recalled that Varna bought the so-called “Dupka” in the city center (a parking lot of less than 3 decares, owned by businessman Georgi Gergov) for BGN 43.2 million provided by the state. After that, for another 16 million BGN, private land, part of the infamous Dupka, was also bought.

“60 million – what do you think, asked Borislav Gutsanov during the given briefing in the parliament. And in Manhattan there is no such price per square meter, this must be the most expensive golden corner anywhere in the world”, Gutsanov also said.

After that, the parliamentary group of the left recalled that in 2016 the second government of GERB transferred to the municipalities of Plovdiv and Varna free of charge the ownership of the state-owned 49% of the capital of “International Fair Plovdiv. According to Gutsanov, this was the first step towards the realization of the plan for mastering the fair by Georgi Gergov.

Gutsanov also recalled the case of the deepening of the Varna port worth BGN 430 million, which cannot be completed at the moment due to unfinished work by the mayor of Varna, Ivan Portnih. “The two main reasons for this are that it was not calculated when the deepening of the canal began, whether the Asparukh Bridge might be strengthened, and secondly, the pipe (the sewage collector on the bottom of Lake Varna, note ed.), which Mr. Portnich for five years now, he cannot fix it. “Let the prosecution take measures and find out who, when and how made this pipe, and let him bear his responsibility. But can a mayor for more than one term not be able to solve this issue – with the dirty sewage that runs along the bottom of the lake and this stop an investment of 430 million BGN. to do his job, asked Gutsanov. If that’s not a crime, I don’t know what to call it.

“We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” will refer the prosecution for the Plovdiv fair

Finally, Borislav Gutsanov announced that the BSP has referred the European Prosecutor’s Office to the case with the fishing port “Karantinata” in Varna. “8.5 million euros were spent on its construction, and at the moment, not only can neither a yacht nor a fishing vessel enter it, you can even walk from one end of the harbor entrance to the other so , as Christ walked on water”.

In this case, Borislav Gutsanov was referring to the poor planning of the port, which caused its entrance to be silted up with sand, making it practically unusable. “These 8.5 million euros, of which 70% are European money, are also credited to Mr. Portnich’s account,” said the chairman of the BSP parliamentary group.
