“BRUTOSKI treatise, medicine according to oskI and caesar brutO” (National Library Editions) of the Carlos Warnes–Oski–Caesar Brutus triad

The name of the book, if we respect upper and lower case letters, is: treatise BRUTOSKI, medicine according to oskI and caesar brutO. Recently published by Ediciones Biblioteca Nacional, this large illustrated volume contains interesting research by Claudio Aguilera, Laura Cilento and Judith Gociol. The authorship of this notable satirization is the triad Carlos Warnes-Oski-César Bruto. That is to say: an invisible writer, a declared cartoonist and the heteronym created by both.

For the first time, the book brings together two series of fascicles commissioned in the 1950s: Medisinal Brutoski Ilustrado, at the request of the Argentine laboratory Dupont, and Vade Mecum Brutoski Medisinae, by the Chilean laboratory Recalcine. It is the second volume of the Papel de kiosk collection, carried out jointly by the Argentine Comics and Graphic Humor Center and the Publications area of the National Library.

This Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. he performs at the aforementioned Center. Jorge Meijide (graphic humorist and pediatrician), Daniel Santoro (plastic artist), Laura Varsky (graphic designer and co-director of the Professional Illustration Program at FADU) and Paula Labeur (author, graduate and professor of Letters) participate. In addition, materials linked to the authorial triad, belonging to the collection of the Center’s archive, are exhibited. Here are ten illustrations from the book:
