Cn Saturday, the Brussels-West police zone (Molenbeek, Jette, Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, Koekelberg and Ganshoren) communicated once more regarding the consequences of the fight which broke out between young Molenbeekois and visibly alcoholic police officers in the context during a descent of the Lesse by kayak on June 1st. First to deny the allegations made by the municipal council of Molenbeek Ahmed El Khannouss (Les Engagés), who assured the day before at the microphone of the Brussels media BX1 that the police officers involved in the facts, according to several witnesses, prowled around the athenaeum Serge Creuz (the school of the students concerned by the facts) and that they would also have followed a student. “The police zone formally denies these assertions given that the police officers in question were not on duty from Monday June 5, 07:00 am, to Friday June 09 morning. The police zone has taken internal organizational measures so as to avoid any situation likely to create possible difficulties. Thus the police officers concerned have been assigned to internal tasks, and this until further notice” evokes the communication service of the area.

“In addition, an administrative disciplinary file has been opened in order to be able to take the appropriate disciplinary measures” specifies Brussels-West. His spokesperson, contacted this Sunday, recalls that “all the 15 people present on the spot are not the subject of a disciplinary procedure”, but only some of them. A judicial inquiry relating to the same facts having been opened by the Namur public prosecutor’s office, the progress of this internal procedure will however remain suspended from the criminal procedure, until further notice.
