The construction sites in the Brussels tunnels follow one another and overlap. For next week, the holiday period, Brussels Mobility announces the total closure to traffic of the Porte de Namur tunnel, from October 27 to November 6.
A measure taken as part of the asbestos removal work on the underground infrastructure. “To regulate traffic, only one lane will be available in the Trône tunnel towards Midi. In the direction of the Basilica, this will be the case in the Louise tunnel.”
On Avenue Louise, extensive work continues in the Bailli and Vleurgat tunnels, reduced to a strip. A high voltage line must be deactivated. Consequently, the tunnel will be closed towards Bois. “In the direction of La Cambre, traffic will have to be diverted on the surface via rue de Livourne between October 29 and November 6.” Towards the center, access to the tunnel remains guaranteed. Additionally, both tunnels will remain completely closed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. every night.

Other projects on the Petite Ceinture
On the Petite Ceinture, other projects should also be remembered. The Botanique tunnel is closed at night until the end of the year. The same goes for the Trône tunnel. In addition, until December 22, traffic will be carried out in the Arts-Loi tunnel on narrowed lanes. Until November 3, the Yser exit from the Rogier tunnel remains closed. “In order to filter traffic upstream, the Botanique and Rogier tunnels in the direction of Basilique are reduced to a strip.”
Finally, the Woluwe tunnel, on Boulevard de la Woluwe, is impacted with the closure of the sluice towards Zaventem. Until November 17, traffic will be on one lane in each direction.
Without forgetting the Leonardo tunnel in Tervuren, which is soon entering a new phase. From November 6, traffic will be on narrowed lanes, limited to 50 km/h.
