The man suspected of having sexually assaulted a minor on a train linking Louvain to Brussels on August 12, went to the police, said the federal police, confirming information from The last news. A wanted notice was issued on Sunday. The police still want to find witnesses to the incident.

The attack occurred between 11:08 a.m. and 11:37 a.m. on Saturday August 12 on a crowded train. The teenager, who felt followed and uncomfortable, wanted to hide in the train toilets when, between two carriages, she was grabbed by the neck by a man. The latter began to kiss his victim and touch her in a brutal manner.

The young girl managed to free herself and got into another car with people. The man followed her and continued to harass her. The victim was finally able to take his cell phone to call the police. The attacker got off at Brussels-North station and knocked on the train window, before leaving the scene.

Following the notice released on Sunday by the Hal-Vilvoorde public prosecutor’s office, several clues reached investigators. The man eventually went to the police.

They are still looking for witnesses who were in the same car, including a man who approached the victim and asked him if everything was okay. This man got off at Brussels Central station. The victim was wearing a blue sweater with white stripes.
