PSeveral cars were set on fire last night in Anderlecht, Brussels firefighters reported on Friday. There were no injuries and no buildings were damaged. The disaster seems to have an accidental cause, according to the men of the fire.
“It was several private cars that were in the parking lot of a company, boulevard Industriel,” said fire department spokesman Walter Derieuw. “We arrived on site around 1:45 a.m. with two fire engines, two ladder trucks and a tanker truck.” Vegetation was also on fire on the adjacent Infrabel site. The fire caused a lot of smoke, but fortunately there are no houses nearby, and given the direction of the wind, there were no consequences for rail traffic either.
