Brussels Motor Show 2023 – The Seres 5 electric SUV appears in its European version

Already seen at the Paris show last October, the Seres 5 appeared at the Brussels show in a slightly different version and announced as the definitive version for our continent. The characteristics have been confirmed, as well as the prices for Belgium.

For its entry into China, the Chinese manufacturer Seres (ex-Sokon Motors) has chosen the little Seres 3 electric. But we have also been promised the big brother Seres 5 for a long time. Also electric, it was marketed in China in 2020, under the name Seres SF5 in reference to the original name of the brand, SF Motors. The Seres 5 was also present at the Paris show in a version similar to that sold in China. But in Brussels, the beings 5 has some differences.

At the front, the shield is now completely sealed. The rest of the body is unchanged and claims a Cd of 0.28. But it is above all on board that the most visible change is to be found. Goodbye to the huge and intrusive 17-inch screen in portrait mode that occupied the entire central facade. It is replaced by a 15″6 screen in landscape position at the top, accompanied by some physical controls. This new screen is probably inherited from the cousin Genuine M5and it is completed by a screen for the instrumentation facing the driver and a head-up display.

4.70 m long, the Seres 5 is available in traction or 4-wheel drive versions. The 2-wheel drive model receives a 285 hp and 420 Nm engine. It has an 80 kWh battery which allows it to claim a range of 500 km in the WLTP cycle. It starts at €63,900 in Belgium. The French price will be communicated later.

As for the integral version, it adds a second 300 hp engine at the rear. In total, there are thus 585 hp and 820 Nm. The battery displays here 90 kWh, for a range of 530 km, still in the WLTP cycle. This second version is displayed at €67,900. Seres does not currently communicate the charging powers of the two models. The V2L (Vehicle to Load) and V2V (Vehicle to Charge) functions will however be present.

Remember that in China the Seres 5 is sold with a range extender.
