LThe problems of additional cost for the North metro project were invited to the Brussels parliament on Tuesday. Questioned by the Mobility Committee, the competent Brussels minister Elke Van den Brandt (Groen) returned in depth to this dossier. As a reminder, the whole, which aims to connect Albert (Forest) to Bordet (Evere), is encountering problems on its two sections. Supported by Stib and announced for 2025, the first consists of the metroification of the pre-metro (tram line 3-4) between the Gare du Nord and Albert (Forest). It is now bogged down at the level of the Palais du Midi. As for the second, managed by Beliris and promised for 2032, which provides for seven stations between the Gare du Nord and Bordet, it appeared last week that Beliris wanted it to be suspended at least because of the excessively high offers received by interested companies.
