Brussels Government’s Measures for Working Conditions in Service Voucher Sector: Federgon Calls Them Unbearable

For Federgon, the measures taken by the Brussels government to improve working conditions in the service voucher sector in Brussels are “unbearable”, said the federation of HR service providers, which notably represents service voucher companies, in a press release on Thursday.

The Brussels government this week approved a series of measures that it believes will improve the working conditions of housekeepers. On the menu, in particular, a reduction in the end of careers, the organization of a compulsory preliminary visit or even the exclusion of users with abusive behavior, detailed Wednesday the Brussels Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Bernard Clerfayt (Challenge).

Federgon plague on these draft decrees that accompany the reform of the service voucher ordinance validated by the Brussels government on Tuesday. “These texts drastically accentuate the imbalance between costs and revenues of approved companies. For Federgon, these texts are unbearable. »

“The costs generated by the additional obligations foreseen are totally unacceptable for companies. If, in principle, various measures start from good intentions, their number and their requirements make them impractical and unaffordable”, underlines Arnaud le Grelle, Brussels-Wallonia director at Federgon, Network for work. “We are increasing the requirements for supervision, training, we are requiring a signed commercial contract and prior visits to the customer before any service, we are increasing the responsibility of companies to customers and housekeepers, etc., without financing these new requirements with dignity or in the long term and without knowing whether they are likely to respond to the problems identified. I call for seriousness and a sense of reality in the face of culpable blindness. »

For Mr. Le Grelle and Federgon, “the text in no way guarantees funding commensurate with needs. The extra euro that Brussels customers have been paying since 1 January is used solely for the regional budget; companies and household helpers have nothing of it”.
