The Brussels government has adopted the opinion that it intends to give to Flanders in the context of the procedure for renewing the permit for Brussels Airport. Lhe Brussels government, including Flemish ministers, has adopted the content of the opinion on the renewal of the environmental permit for Brussels (national) airport, operated by BAC (Brussels Airport Company). The Brussels Region thus gives an opinion that its Flemish counterpart did not ask of it (this is not provided for in the procedure, which is entirely carried out by the Flemish Region and which only has to consult a few Flemish municipalities), recognizing however that the opinion of Brussels-Capital was requested by Flanders during the preliminary environmental impact report. Whether the opinion of the Brussels government transmitted “for information” to Flanders might be followed by a less diplomatic version in court, Alain Maron (Brussels Ecolo Minister for the Environment and Climate Transition) remains in the register of conciliation. Until proven otherwise.
