This Wednesday around 9:30 a.m., the Brussels firefighters intervened in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, rue Vanderstichelen, in a depot of building materials. A person accidentally got buried under a pile of tiles. “People present had already partially cleared the unfortunate”, says Walter Derieuw, spokesman for the fire department.
The emergency services stabilized and secured the scene, to allow the medical teams to work in complete safety. “The victim was conscious throughout the rescue operation. The injured man was sedated before being fixed on the olive board, in order to be evacuated, in the best conditions and accompanied by the SMUR, to the hospital. The vital prognosis is not, at first glance, engaged”explains Walter Derieuw.
