Diving teams from the Brussels fire brigade were called in by the police on Monday morning around 10:30 a.m. to search for a body in the canal at the Allée Verte in Brussels. The Brussels public prosecutor’s office confirmed to Belga on Monday followingnoon that a corpse was discovered there. An investigation is underway.
“A body was found in the canal. The Brussels public prosecutor’s office has been notified and seized a forensic doctor, ”said the public prosecutor’s office. “This one came down to the spot. An autopsy will be requested. The investigation is ongoing and at this stage the prosecution will not comment further,” he added.
Monday morning around 10:30 a.m., several Brussels fire trucks were parked on the Allée Verte in Brussels, along the canal. Excavations were taking place in the water. The firefighters intervened at the request of the police, in order to find the body.
