Between 20,000 and 40,000 people (one hour between the start and end of the procession) met in Brussels to “reaffirm the importance of ensuring respect for international law, denouncing European inaction in the face of violations of international law underway in Palestine and urgently request the implementation of an immediate ceasefire to save lives”, at the call of the Belgian-Palestinian association, joined by around forty other associations. Beyond the countless Palestinian flags, and slogans equating Benjamin Netanyahu to a war criminal, the demonstration took place smoothly, with in particular the presence of the Franco-Palestinian lawyer, Salah Hamouri and the founder of BDS (a movement which aims to boycott Israel), Omar Barghouti. “The State of Israel is committing an attempted genocide once morest the Palestinian people,” said Salah Hamouri.
