Brussels Cafe Rape Accusation: Shocking Allegations at La Diligence Cafe

This Tuesday, February 27, the Instagram account “Balance ton bar” published a new accusation of rape. Indeed, a bartender working at the La Diligence café located not far from Place Flagey is singled out. The place is well known among young Brussels residents, since karaoke evenings are regularly organized there.

”A bartender from La Diligence, rue du Belvédère number 10 in Ixelles, raped me. I can’t say more. I had to do it for hours at the police station. Justice is slow, this rapist leads his life peacefully just a stone’s throw from my house. I just want to share this, because I don’t want him to put anyone else through this,” the victim writes through “Balance ton bar”.

This publication on social networks triggered a wave of reactions. “So much strength. We believe you”, “All my support, I experienced a similar situation and I believe you”, “Strength and courage”, we can read in the comments.

According to our colleagues at Sudinfo, the Brussels public prosecutor’s office confirms that a complaint has been filed and that an investigation is underway.

As a reminder, this is not the first time that “Balance ton bar” has pointed out such behavior. At the time, the Instagram account disclosed facts of rape by a leaver from a former bar in the Ixelles Cemetery, El Café, on a female customer. The man has since been sentenced to 50 months in prison.
